Black lives matter

I have been very verbal in my criticism of companies who read the news and fail to take a stand, and I've been horrible at this myself here (less so on Twitter).

So officially (although late): Black lives matter.

Thanks to my skin color and gender, I've had an advantage my whole life. I still do and say stupid things and have a lot to learn, but I want people to know where I stand.

Diversity makes things stronger

I realize that the BLM movement is about other things (police brutality and systemic racism), but on a related note, just a quick thought on diversity: diversity is a good thing.

It's true in design, in the make-up of your team, and in your relationships in life. God help me if I had to be surrounded by people just like me all day. Most of all, the more diverse our country, the better we will be.
